Welcome to Shirat HaTamar!
In 2018 we founded Shirat HaTamar in Efrat, Gush Etzion, as a spiritual home for young families in search of meaningful tefilla (prayer) and a warm communal life. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere in which men, women, and children may all take actively participate -- out of the belief that this is a fundamental aspect of our ‘avodat HaShem. Our kehilla (community) was founded with the support of the mara de-atra (local rabbi), Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, who continues to provide advice and guidance. Our spiritual leader is Rabbanit Shira Marili-Mirvis.
Rabbanit of the Community
In 2021 members of the community chose Rabbanit Shira Marili Mirvis, a member of the community since its founding, to take on the role of spiritual leader. This step was taken with the support of Rabbi Shlomo Riskin and Rabbi Shuki Reich.
Parsha Podcast
You are invited to listen to a weekly parsha (weekly Torah portion) podcast, in Hebrew, hosted by Rabbanit Shira and her chavruta (study partner) Chamutal Shoval. The podcast is supported by Makor Rishon.
